Hi guys, i just want to teach you how to edit an existing GIF image,
I think this tutorial is applicable with Adobe Photoshop CS3 - CS5.
I’m not so sure about CS6 because they changed the animation feature there.
You should also have the basic knowledge about frame by frame animation. I have a tutorial here
What’s the use of this tutorial?
- You can add effects/Text to that GIF image.
- You’ll be able to resize the GIF. ex. from 600x300px you can change it to 300x100 px
- You can delete unwanted scenes from that GIF image.
So yes, let’s start this!
1. First save your GIF.
2. Choose File > Import > Video Frames to Layer.
3. There’ll be a open video dialog box.
4. You won’t be able to see the .GIF image you saved. Instead just type in “*.*” (minus the quotes okay?)in the File name. This way you’ll be able to see the GIF image you saved.

5. There’ll be an Import Video to Layers notice that will pop up. It depends to you if you will select the particular scene on that GIF or the whole “From Beginning to End”. Also make sure that “Make Frame Animation” is checked.

6. JARAN!, now you can edit it! resize it, add text, add effects.
Note : IF you’re add text/effect, make sure that you the layer (text/effect is in the top)

7. Open Window > and click Animation to view the frame by frame animation box.

8. When saving the image, the usual Save/Save as won’t work, instead.
Go to File > Save for Web and Devices. and make sure that GIF is selected.

This is just a tip for coloring doodles/Lineart
1. So open your Lineart/Doodle Scan in Photoshop

—
2. Duplicate the Background Layer and fill the Background Layer with white.

4. We’ll do this so you can change the black color on your doodle/drawing

—
5. Change its blending mode to “Lighten”

6. Now change the Blending mode of the Duplicated layer to “Multiply” so that you can eliminate the Whites and you can now start coloring your doodle/Lineart.
Note : The color layers should be below the doodle layer.

—
7. I’m using the pen tool for coloring - but you can also use the brush tool if you’re having a hard time using the pen tool.

Tip : Every color = New layer. So that you can easily change it later on.

Start with the base then add the highlights/shadows.
